Stolen property recovered along with thief

On 30/01/07 at 05:00 Hrs, While Sri C.E.Thimmaiah, PI, DCIB, Udupi and his staff on rounds at Koteshwara junction, NH 17, Kundapura Taluk, picked up a person who was suspiciously trying to flee from the spot on seeing the police and after questioning him , the suspect confessed to a series of property offences involving gold and silver ornaments. The police team then seized the gold and silver ornaments from various places where they were disposed off. The offender Muruga @ Balaraj, residing at Kubhasi, Kundapura Taluk , in his confession revealed that the offences were committed in the surroundings of Kundapura and Kota. Total worth of the property recovered by the police team was Rs. 3 lakh . Earlier the same offender is known to have been convicted for a theft case and was recently released from Mysore jail.
