On the night of 17/10/2006 some unknown culprits murdered one old woman named Srimathi Machi of 70 years old in front of her house with deadly weapons at 5 cents, Janatha colony, Uppunda village, Byndoor. A murder case has been registered by Byndoor police on the complaint lodged by Sri Narayana Kharvi, son-in-law of the deceased. The reason for murder yet to be known. Efforts are on to trace the culprits by the police.
