On 05/07/2007 at 09:45 hrs on credible information, ASI Sri. B.K. Divakara Hegde along with Kota police station staff raided a place in Chitrapady village near the pump shed of late Narayana Shetty. At the time of police raid the accused Basava Poojary (43) S/o Kala Poojary of Holekere, Chitrapady village was found selling arrack packets without any license by storing 3,410 arrack packets in 13 gunny bags. By arresting him, the police party seized the arrack packets worth Rs. 44,300/-. A case has been registered against the accused person under Karnataka Excise Act at Kota PS and the case is under investigation.
