Video Parlors Raided: Pirated DVDs and VCDs Seized

On 16/02/07 on credible information Karkala Circle Inspector of Police and Sub-Inspector of Police, Karkala Town Police station raided three video parlours in Karkala and seized pirated VCD’s and DVD’s
Police teams raided Luis V.C.D Video Club, Ganesh Prakash Video Centre and Shenoy Choice center at Karkala accordingly seized total 876 pirated DVDs and 3466 pirated VCDs with DVDs and VCDs containing pornographic material. Along with pirated VCDs & DVDs. Police arrested three persons seizing total property of Rs. 5, 31,400/-. Arrested persons are as below:
1) Udaya Lawrence Luis S/o Gasper Luis R/o Karkala is owner of Luis VCD club.
2) Prakash S/o H. Damodar Prabhu R/o Karkala is owner of Ganesh Prakash Video centre.
3) Umesh S/o Ishawara R/o Pervaje, Karkala, is working at Shenoy Choice center
The owner of Shenoy Choice centre is one Prashant R/o Venoor who was also made one of the accused in this case. Accordingly cases are taken at Karkala Town Police Station. U/s 52 (A), 63 & 68 (A) of copy right Act (Amendment Act 1984 and 1994) and Sec. 292 of Indian Penal Code.
