On the night of 22/12/2006, one Mr. K. Prakash @ Jayaprakash parked his white ambassador car bearing registration No. CTA 7944 near Kundapura Railway station for the purpose of hire. On 23/12/06 at about 04:45 Hrs 3 unknown male persons aged about 25-30 came and enged the car for visiting Kollur temple. During their journey towards Kollur temple, near Jadkal bridge one of the inmate signalled to stop the car for passing the urinals. When the car was stopped, they get down from the car and pulled down Mr. K.Prakash from the car assaulted him with deadly weapons and took the car towards Kundapura. All the three persons are speaking Kannada and Hindi. In this connection Kollur police registered a case in Cr. No. 73/06 U/s 392 IPC on the complaint of Mr. K.Prakash. Immediately the message conveyed to all police stations of the district and neighbouring districts. Udupi police stricted vehicle checking. By getting this clue, the accused persons escaped by leaving the car at Kumbaramakki, Asodu village, Gangolli police station limits. At about 05:30 Hrs Kollur police seized the car. Efforts are on to trace the culprits.
