On 17/07/2006 at 08:45 hrs. near Athoor church, Nitte village under Karkala Rural PS limits, the accused driver of Nitte College bus Madhusoodhan drove his bus in a rash and negligent manner and crashed into an Auto Rickshaw bearing no. KA 20 A 3814. As a result one of the passengers in the autorikshaw, an 8th standard student Gopalkrishna(13) succumbed to his injuries and Harishchandra Bhat the driver of the auto rickshaw was injured seriously. In this connection a case has been registered against the accused driver of the bus in Karkala Rural PS Cr. No. 80/06 U/s. 279, 337, 338, 304(A) IPC. The accused bus driver was arrested and vehicles were seized.
