Chain Snatchers caught by DCIB Police Udupi

On 17/07/2006 at 04:00 hrs DCIB,Udupi Inspector Sri C.E Thimmayya and staff while on rounds, picked up two persons Mayyaddi & Mustaff who were wandering suspiciously near Masjid road, Udupi. During interrogation they disclosed that they along with other persons were involved in several chain snatching cases in Palimaru, Adve, Moodabettu, Muloor village surroundings etc. Later in the day, four Gold chains valuing Rs. 60,000/- have been recovered from the places where they were disposed off. The two accused have been arrested and sent for judicial custody. Police are on the look out for the other members of the gang.
