Roiting at Hotel Plaza, Udupi

On 23/07/2006 at about 21:45 hrs., 5 unknown persons wearing masks, gained entry into the Hotel Plaza armed with wooden sticks and sharp weapons and vandalised the hotel table, chairs, freezer and also assaulted the cashier Jaiuddin & another Abdul Rehaman with wooden sticks. Approximate estimate of property derstroyed is about Rs 50,000/-. In this connection a case in Udupi town PS has been registered under Cr. No.223/2006 U/s 143, 147, 148, 448, 427, 324 r/w sec 149 of IPC and investigation is on. The exact motive behind the incident has not been established yet. In view of the incident proper police bundobasth is being done to prevent any further untoward incidents.
