Illegal transportation of cattle for slaughter in Gangolli

On 22/07/2006 at about 16:00 hrs while PSI Gangolli Sri. B.M Thimmaraju and his staff were conducting vehicle checks at Haklady, they stopped one goods matador bearing registration No.KA-20/1241. On checking the vehicle they found three Calves and one she buffalo being transported. While enquiring the inmate Rafiq of Kodi Village, Kundapura, confessed that he had purchased the animals and was transporting them for slaughter. In this connection a case under Gangolli P.S Cr No 62/06 U/s 8, 9, 11 of Karnataka prevention of cow slaughter act 1964, has been registered and the two accused Rafiq and Iqbal the driver of the vehicle were arrested and the vehicle was seized. Investigation is under progress.
