On 25/08/2007, at about 23:00 Hrs near Adve Anandi Complex, Nandikoor village, Udupi Taluk on State Highway No. 66, a Mahindra Pick-up van driver drove his vehicle bearing registration No. KA 19 B 8118 from Padubidri towards Karkala in a rash and negligent manner and dashed to motor cycle bearing registration No. KA 21 H 451 and after hitted to pedestrain namely Sri Santhosh and escaped from the spot towards Karkala. Due to this the rider of motor cycle Sri Seetharama and pillion rider Sri Guruprasad knocked down and got grevious injuries. The pedestrain Sri Santhosh also got minor injuries. On the way to hospital Sri Seetharama succumbed to the injuries. Padubidri police registered hit and run case against the guilty driver of the pick-up van and efforts are on to trace the culprit and the vehicle.
