On 19/02/07 at 05:15 Hrs, While Sri C.E.Thimmaiah, PI, DCIB, Udupi and his staff were on rounds near Kalyanpura, Santhekatte, Udupi Taluk, the driver of the Tanker bearing registration Number MH-43-E-5173, was found carrying stolen spirit and trying to dispose off the same to Naniyappa of Puttur, D.K district. The tanker was transporting Govt. spirit from Maharastra to Kerala. In this connection the team arrested Abdhul Vahab, the driver of the vehicle, Laxmana, the associate of the driver and Naniyappa, the purchaser of illegal spirit. The team also seized one Maruthi 800 Car bearing registration No. K.A 21-3659 . Total worth of the property seized by the police team was Rs. 15,00,000/-.
