Robbery case reported in Hiriyadka and detected

On 16/09/06 at 21:15 Hrs one Kumari Shwetha, aged about 23 yrs D/o Sadananda Nayak, R/o Pelathoor House, Kanajar village, Karkala Taluk lodged a complaint with Hiriyadka police alleging that on 16/09/06 at about 18:40 hrs while she was walking alone towards her home from the city, one unknown male person suddenly came from behind and snatched the ear ring and golden chain from the neck of the complainant and ran away. Total property that was robbed from the victim is worth Rs. 15,000/- . In this connection a Robbery case has been registered in Hiriyadka PS Cr. No. 92/06 U/s. 392 IPC and investigation is on.

Case Detected Within 24 hrs

Today on 17/09/06 at about 11:45 Hrs, Sri Dinesh Kumar CPI Brahmavara & PSI Hiriyadka along with their staff picked up Suresha Purusha, Sacheripete, Mundkur village and Sudhakara Jogi, Sacheripete, Mundkur village, Karkala Taluk based on the clues provided by the victim in this case. On subjecting the suspects to interrogation they disclosed that Sudhakara Jogi sat by the side of the road signalling Suresh Purusha about the movement of people. Suresha followed the victim from behind, at one point he crossed the victim, immediately turned back & snacthed the chain which she was wearing, and while she started shouting for help, he held her neck tightly with his hands and demanded her to handover all jewels and thus she had handed over a Golden Ear stud from one of her ear, hearing the sound of a bike coming that way, the accused panicked and escaped into the nearby forest. The case was detected within 24 hrs from the time of report. The police then recovered the robbed jewellery worth Rs. 15,000/- from them.
