Private Bus and Lorry head-on collision at Padubidri

On 21/07/06 at about 17:00 hrs at Nadsalu Village near Padubidri Petrol Pump, about eleven pasengers including the driver of a private bus ( bearing no. KA 20 AC-333 ) heading towards Mangalore, sustained minor to grievious injuries after the bus met with a head-on collision with a lorry ( bearing no. KA 27-7273 ) coming in the opposite direction. In this connection a case has been registered against the driver of the lorry for rash and negligent driving, in Padubidri PS Cr. No. 85/06 U/s 279,337,338 IPC and the case is under investigation. The injured including both the drivers have all been admitted to the Govt hospital and Siddi Vinayaka Hospitals in Padubidiri and those with minor injuries were discharged later on.
