Excise raid by DCIB Police, Udupi

On 20/07/06, on the credible information, Sri C.E.Thimmaiah, PI, DCIB, Udupi along with his staff raided the house of Late one Sarvothama Saliyan, Vishan compound, Kedinje village, Karkala Taluk where the accused persons Chuchchu @ Sudarshan and Rony were manufacturing arrack without any license. At the time of raid, Chuchchu @ Sudarshan escaped from the spot. The police team apprehended John Rodric Martin @ Rony aged 39 years and seized 4 cans of 35 liters capacity which were filled with spirit. In addition 125 arrack packets, 9 empty cans of 35 liters capacity and 5 plastic roles total worth Rs. 10,000/- were seized. The case is handed over to Karkala Rural police for further investigation.
