Forged Certificates Racket Busted by Manipal Police

On 16/12/07, the MAHE authorities registered a compliant at Manipal PS regarding the forgery of certificates which were sent by Vibrant Services Pvt Ltd Bangalore for the verification of educational certificates & copies of statement of marks of B.E Degree exam (Ist to 8th Semester) of one Mr Sathyaprakash Rai along with the provisional pass certificate of said person. On verification the controller of examinations found that such student had not studied B.E ( Computer Science ) during the period of 2001-2004 in MAHE University and all the certificates mentioned were forged and fabricated. Signatures of Director, Controller of examinations, Vice Chancellor of the University has been forged.

In this regard Police Inspector B.G Achar of Manipal took up investigation and in further investigation accused Sathyaprakash Rai revealed that one Mr. Nagendra @ Chinna of Maruthi Nagar, Bangalore had prepared the said certificates for Rs. Ten Thousand. In further investigation it was disclosed that Nagendra @ Chinna had forged certifictes for following Universities/ Boards :- 1. Sri Krishnadevaraya University A.P, 2. State Board of Technical Education A.P, 3. Cochin University of Science and Technology, 4. Andhra University, 5. Andhra Open University, 6. Board of Secondary Eduaction A.P, 7. Board of Intermediate Education A.P, 8. Nagarjuna University A.P, 9. Sri Venkateshwara University A.P, 10. Osmania University A.P, 11. Annamalai University., 12. Magadh University, 13. Sant Gadge Baba Amaravathi University. 14.Maharashtra State Secondary Education, 15. Kuvempu University Karnataka, 16.Vishweshwarayya Technology University Belgaum Karnataka., 17. Adarsha College Bangalore., 18. S.S.L.C Board Karnataka., 19. P.U Board Karnataka, 20. Gulbarga University, 21.Bangalore University.

Police have seized one computer, two scanner, one colour printer, one NOKIA mobile phone, some forged certificates, two bundles of papers which are used for printing forged documents and cash of Rs. 4500/- by arresting Nagendra. Case is under investigation.
