Today on 1st of july 2006, the New police station building of Kaup was inaugurated at 11.30 AM by the District Incharge Minister for Udupi Dr V S Acharya, in the presence of Minister for Fisheries Shri Nagaraj Shetty, Udupi MP Smt Manorama Madhvaraj, Kaup MLA Shri Lalaji Mendon, Udupi MLA Sri Raghupathi Bhat, Deputy Commissioner Udupi Shri Ponnuraj IAS., and other dignitaries. The function was earlier supposed to be graced by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Karnataka Shri H D Kumaraswamy, and the Hon'ble Home Minister Shri M P Prakash. In the absence of the Hon'ble Chief Minister, the inauguration was done by the District Incharge Minister. A message sent by the Hon'ble Chief Minister was read out by Shri Nagaraj Shetty and handed over to Superintendent of Police, Udupi. The Hon'ble Minister also inaugurated a new flag post constructed and donated to Kaup Police Station by the JCI Kaup. The new police station building was constructed by the Karnataka Police Housing Corporation and was completed in December 2005.

I am Sneha S. Kamath, 1st year engineering student in Manipal Institute of Technology. About a month ago, when I visited my aunt (Mrs Veda Nayak, "Prashant" Chitpady, Udupi) for the week end, my mobile was stolen from the house probably by one of the labourers who work for my cousin Mr Manjunath Y Nayak, who is a PWD Contractor.
The mobile is now active and someone in Bijapuri Kannada responds when I call up the same number 996 401 1953.
