Udupi Town Robbery case detected

On sunday, 25/06/06 at about 21:00 hrs. some unknown culprits gained entry into Ganesh Melting Shop situated at Vadhiraja road under Udupi TownPS limits. Later they forcibly tied one Sachin with nylon ropes and closed his mouth by sticking plaster and committed robbery of Rs. 1,10,000/-, 100 Gms Gold and 800 Gms Silver. In this connection a case of robbery was registered in Udupi Town PS under Cr No. 190/2006.

The investigation was taken up by CPI Udupi, Vishwanath and to assist him DCIB Inspector C.E. Thimmaiah and his staff were deputed. This morning on 28-06-06, the team picked up one Girish (working as goldsmith in Vadhiraj road, Udupi) for questioning on the basis of clues already collected and during interrogation the suspect Girish confessed that he, along with Guruprasad, Vishwanath and Shyam of Balehonnur committed the robbery. While Guruprasad was picked up from Udupi immediately, the other two ., Vishwanath and Shyam were arrested from Koppa in Chickmagalur. The entire property of Rs. 1,00,000/-, 100 Gms Gold and 800 Gms Silver was then recovered from the accused.

The team who cracked the case included Sri. Vishwanath CPI, Udupi, Sri. C.E. Thimmaiah, PI, DCIB and staff Chandrashekar Shetty, Sridhar Nambiyar, Balakrishna Poojary, Balakrishan Gowda, Sudesh Shetty, Uday, Ranjan, Yogedranath, Raghavendra Uppoor, and Raju Bhovi .
