One killed in road traffic accident at Brahmavara

On 23/10/2007 at about 07:15 hrs, near Mahesh Hospital, NH 17, the driver of the lorry bearing registration No. CNG 9142 drove his lorry in a rash and negligent manner and with an intention to give a side to another vehicle he taken away his vehicle left side of the road and hit to a pedestrian namely Jaya Suvarna. As a result Jaya Suvarna got grievous injuries and succumbed on the spot. Brahamavara Police registered a case against the lorry driver in this regard.

Theft case registerd in Manipal & Kundapura

On 15/10/2007 at 09:00 hrs to 11:30 hrs, some unknown culprits committed theft of one HP Compa Laptop Model number 65156, Black with Silver lid colour cabinet along with charger & calculator which was placed in a table at Room No. 8, Block-9, MIT hostel, Manipal. In this connection a theft case registered in Manipal PS on the compliant of Anjuman Pradhanand and investigation is on to trace the culprits along with property.

In one more incident Kundapura police registered a compliant by Vishwamabara Bhat S/o Vittal Bhat, Rathabidi, Kumbhashi, Kundapura regarding some unknown culprits committed theft of gold ornaments along with cash worth Rs- 10,000/- by break opening the door lock. Total stolen property worth Rs-24,000/-.

Total worth of property worth Rs-90,000/-. In this connection a theft case has been registered in Udupi Town PS on the complaint of Smt. Umamaheshwari W/o Vasantha Nayak, Govt Nurses Quarters, Udupi and investigation is on to trace the culprits and property.

Sandalwood seized at Kota

On 11/10/2007, at about 15:00 Hrs on credible information Sri B.P. Dinesh Kumar, CPI, Brahmavara along with his staff seized one Bajaj M80 vehicle bearing registration number KA 20 H 7829, police party arrested Ashraf (19 yrs) S/o Ibrhim, Madhuvanna, Vadarse village, Udupi for carrying Sandal wood in an plastic bag and seized 6.460 Kgs of Sandal wood along with motor vehicle, which was found transporting without any license. Total Rs. 10,000/- worth of sandalwood was seized. In this regard a case was registered at Kota PS under K.F. Act and the case is under investigation.

Unidentified deadbody found in Santavara, Kundapura

On 29/09/07 before 12:50 hrs near Santavara railway gate, Kundapura railway station, one unknown male person aged about 50-60 years died in goods railway accident. In this connection Kundapur police registered an unnatural death case and handed over the same to Konkan Railway Police, Manipal for further investigation.

The description of the deceased person is as follows.

Mobile phone snatched near Kaup Light House

On 30/09/2007, at about 20:20 Hrs 4 unknown culprits snatched a mobile phone IMEI No. 356294013919898 while the complainant Dr. Kush Kumar Sing walking with his friend near Kaup Light House and escaped from the spot. Based on the complaint lodged by Dr. Kumar Sing on 05/10/07, Kaup police registered a robbery case and efforts are on to trace the culprits.

On 04/10/07, at 18:40 hrs, Kumari Gayathri aged about 14 Yrs, working as sweeper in Sheik Ahamed house in Modabettu, Kaup left his owner house without informing anybody in the house and did not returned back. On 04/10/2007 at 15:40 hrs. near Shubodini school, Alevoor, Kukkikatte, Udupi, the accused driver of the motor car bearing registration number KA 19 P 6428 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motor cycle bearing registration number KA 20 Q 3789, as a result motor cycle rider Ravindra Shettigar of Mudusagri, Kunjibettu sustained grievous injuries. Immediately he has been shifted for treatment, while on the way he succumbed to the injuries. In this connection a case has been registered in Udupi Town PS and case is under investigation

House theft at Brahmavara

Today on 04/10/07, in between 09:30 hrs. to 12:35 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the house of Moses D'Silva S/o. Late Byapist D'Silva at Varamaballi village and committed theft Gold ornaments worth Rs. 80,000/-, 3 Mobile hand sets and Rs. 4500/- from bed room almerah. In this connection a house theft has been registered in Brahmavara PS and investigation is on to trace the culprits and the property.

Illegally Transporting Sandal wood seized at Santekatte.

On 04/10/07 at 10:30 hrs, on credible information PI, DCIB along with his staff seized a Maruthi car bearing No. KA-02 M-2951. near Santekatte bridge, Udupi and arrested one Mohammed Javed (25) S/o Moidin R/o Kodange mane, Mangalpadavu post, Vitla Padnur Bantwala Taluk. Who was transporting 47 Kg Sandal wood to Kanakonam of Goa state without any permission. Sandal wood and the said Maruthi car was seized. The total property worth Rs 2 lack. Property and accused handed over to Udupi Town PS for further necessary action.

Theft case registered at Karkala Rural P.S

In between 30/09/07 to 01/10/07 08:00 hrs some un known culprits open the door of kajeponnudu Primary school, Mundkuru village, Karkala taluk and stolen Radio-1, Rice 30 Kg, some cooking article’s and some books. In this regard a case has been registered in Karkala Rural P.S. Efforts are on to trace the property and the culprits.

Arrack bottle's seized by Brahmavara Police

On 01/10/07 at 20:00 Hrs PSI, Brahmavara along with his staff raided near Tenkabettu, uppooru village, at the time of police party raid the accused Shankar Poojary (42) S/o Late. Sanjiva Poojary R/o Jathabettu, uppoor village was selling 180ML, 14 Super Jack and 10 Mysore Lancer Bottle’s without any license. The total worth of these sized bottle’s are Rs 750/-. Accused was arrested, cash Rs. 150/- were also seized. In this connection a case has been registered against him in Brahmavara PS.

Two killed in Road -Traffic accident

On 01/10/2007 at 15:30 hrs. near Abco steel company, NH-17, Udupi, Sri Ajaya Shenoy driver of Pulser motor cycle numbered KA 20 U-751 ride his motor cycle in a rash and negligent manner and hit to the behind of a Lorry bearing registration No. KA 25 B 2095, which was parked beneath the national highway. The rider Ajay Shenoy died at the spot. The pillion rider Praveen Nayak was thrown out from the motor cycle, as a result he sustained griveous injuries. Immediately he has been shifted to hospital for treatment, while on the way he succumbed to the injuries. In this connection a case has been registered in Udupi Town PS and case is under investigation.

One killed in road traffic accident at Manipal

On 30/09/2007 at about 20:00 hrs near Shanthi Nagar, Manipal – Alevoor road, 80 Badagabettu village, a pedestrian namely Thoma, 25 years was fatally knocked down after he was hit by a motor cycle bearing registration No. KA 14 J 1150. This was happened due to the rash and negligent riding by Chethan, the motorcycle rider, consequently he also got minor injuries. Manipal police registered a case in this regard against the motorcycle rider.
