On 26/08/08 AT 20:00 Hrs, with a credible information Sri. Joy Anthony, PSI, Kaup PS seized 2 KG of Ganja worth Rs-10,000/- on the way of NH 17, Near Marigudi, Kaup and arrested the accused Abdul Razak(42) of Kombagudde, Mallar & his wife Juleka Ayesha(38) , who is carring the parcel in her hand, Both were coming in their 2 wheeler M-80 vehicale from Mangalore. In this regard a NDPS case has been taken up by Kaup PS.

1 killed in Road Accident

On 19/08/2008 at 05:45 hrs, near Hemady Kundapura, the Lorry driver bearing registration number KA 22 A 7380, drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner, while giving side to some other vehicle dashed to the Maruthi car bearing registration number KA 20 M 4322, as a result Sri shamsunder sustained grievous injuries and succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital. In this connection a case has been registered in Kundapura PS and case is under investigation.

Man missing case reported at Udupi Town

On 01/08/08 in the morning Sri Venkatesh Bhat left his house along with his son by saying that he is going to “Prahlada” Gurukula located behind Pejavar Mutt, Udupi to leave his son there. By leaving his son at Gurukula, he neither return back to home nor goes to Gurukula. Smt. Revathi W/o the missing person, R/o “Vanishri”, Doddangudde, Kunjibettu lodged a complaint in this regard. Udupi Town police registered a case and the investigation is on to trace the missing person.

Accused arrested along with Property

On 03/02/2008 at 08:00 hrs, near Koppalangady, on the way of NH-17, while PSI Kaup and his staff checking the vehicles, the driver of a Maruthi Zen car bearing Reg No. KA-19 Z 4648 runaway without stopping his vehicle, Meanwhile the police party found the car near Kothalakatte, Uliyaragoli. After checking the vehicle it was found some stolen Aluminum frames worth Rs-8,000/-. While interrogating the driver Manjunth aged 30 years of Punaroor, he reviled that other 2 persons named Musthak & Imran were escaped from the car. Police party were investigating the case to get more information.

Pedestrian killed in Road-Traffic accident

On 03/08/2008 at 17:30 hrs. near Kelabarabettu, Yadthadi village, the driver of the Maruthi 800 car bearing registration number KA 20 N 5717, drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner, and dashed against a pedestrian Jayaram, as a result he sustained grievous injuries and succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital. In this connection a case has been registered in Brahmavara PS and case is under investigation.

Robbery case reported in Manipal

On 31/07/08 at 11:00 hrs, 2 unknown culprits came through an Splendor motor cycle and robbed a cash bag belonging to Mr. Palash, who was on his way near Green park hotel, Manipal after drawing 23,400/- cash from State bank of India. In this connection a robbery case was registered in Manipal PS and investigation is on to trace the culprits along with property.

At time of Police party raid accused 1) Jaya shetty 2) Vishwanatha 3) Sathish sheregar 4) Santhosh and 5) Seetharama shetty were playing cock-fight gambling by betting with money. Accused persons are arrested at the spot and seized cash Rs. 1,500/- with 8 cocks. In this regard a case has been registered at Kaup PS.
